At the end of April's Poetry month and immersing ourselves into the reading and writing of poetry, Camp Serazin's first graders perform Shel Silverstein's "Sick"!

Students at H D Crull Elementary were able to get their blood pumping on Friday, March 21st at our weekly Friday assembly. As a treat, we had Mrs. McElwain teach the students and staff some awesome Zumba moves. For the last song, the students who go to our after school program made up their own dance moves and shared it with the rest of the school. What a fun time!
Thank you Mr. Dembo for sharing your son's favorite (and yours too!) story to Mrs. Serazin's first grade classroom today. We love connecting with interesting people during March is Reading Month!
First grade friends from Mrs. Serazin's visited Mrs. Finn's kindergarten to read a play. The students have been practicing the play during literacy time in the classroom, and enjoyed showing off to the little ones!
The awesome first grade students in Mrs. Serazin's class is practicing their reading with a partner. The class has been working on what it "looks like" and "sounds like" when the class is reading together. The children have really enjoyed being able to dive into books!
If you want to help your student be an all star reader at home, read with him or her every night. Also, allow your child time to read out loud to you. The best way to become a proficient reader is to practice, practice, practice! |
